GenAI Now

GenAI now

I thought we had gotten into calmer waters with generative AI, but DeepSeek, the plunge of Nvidia stock, and the launch of o-3 mini showed me that I was very wrong.

And yet – I feel a certain fatigue, a certain boredom with the whole shebang. I have a hard time taking tech bros seriously. Their superficial adoption of stoic philosophy and Marcus Aurelius quotes are cute. And laughable.

Maybe it is the overt influence of tech billionaires on our democracies that has me go ugh. Maybe I am just too old for all this.

Anyway, my original enthusiasm has shrunk.

Yes, I still use ChatGPT. Often as a distraction, sometimes as a tool. But I am not convinced my job and my daily tasks are going to change significantly over the next five years. The advent of genAI did not change my daily tasks and the way I work over the past two years.

And so, I have all the expectations that I will keep reading and writing myself, as a way to ponder problems, chew through problems, and organize my thoughts – I do not expect Chattie to come in and put my head in order for me.

How do you feel about GenAI at the moment?
