How generative AI has changed blogging
With the advent of generative AI, we could think that blogging may be over for once and for all. Blogging by far is not as popular as it used to be 10-15 years ago, and now that The Machine can write anything, why even bother?
And certainly, there is a new wave of AI-generated words on the internet – of which we could wonder, who (except the AI itself) will ever read these.
Yet, at the same time, I still enjoy reading blogs, when they are written by someone with their own voice and story. So, while I have been tinkering with how I can use genAI for my blog, I want to keep hanging out here, with my own voice and half-baked thoughts.
I do use ChatGPT for a number of things. Sometimes, when I am working on a bulleted list of something to write a post about, I may be brainstorming with Chattie. And, I use Dall-E for the illustrations – I got a bit bored of taking sunrise and cloud photographs to illustrate my posts.
Finally, I have had this blog for nearly 15 years because I like writing. It would be a moot point if I would outsource the writing, the think I enjoy most of this entire blog, to an algorithm and would be left with the parts of blogging that are less of my interest.
Have you noticed changes to blogs and blogging since the advent of generative AI?
