Another academic summer

Just like last year, I’m spending part of my summer semester in the Netherlands. For the first 3 weeks, I had 9 hours of childcare per day, leaving me 8 hours to work (and less when taking into account my lunch break).

Again, I’ve been taking my time to roam around with my daughter and have little adventures during the evenings (we now have library cards!), and for bigger adventures on the weekends.

I’ve been focusing on having meetings at work, and spending time with my colleagues. I have not been writing – contrarily to the typical advice to use the summer to get writing done.

At night, I put in a few more hours of work after my daughter sleeps – mostly to reply emails or comment on documents of others.
