What I’m Currently Using ChatGPT For

What I’m currently using ChatGPT for

As I like to reflect on how my usage of tools changes over time, I’m here with an update on what I currently use ChatGPT for:

  • random questions
  • quick calculations of my strength percentile as a function of age and weight, for my big lifts
  • correcting my writing in Spanish, or asking to edit the grammar and style of a paragraph of English text
  • making figures with DallE to illustrate this blog
  • creating think days for me, with journaling prompts
  • creating plans to strengthen skills based on my input
  • turning tables with the status of papers into a list of what each associate editor needs to do
  • comparing draft proposal text to the rubric to see if certain parts need to be strengthened

So, mostly rather random applications. I like writing and creating, so I don’t what the RoboThingie to do the creative work for me, but it can help me in creating prompts, criticizing my work, and editing for grammar and spelling. All in all, a very smart and useful assistant it is.
