Favorite albums of 2024

As every year, I am here with my top 10 of albums! I am not embedding the Youtube videos anymore, as I assume most of you use streaming services anyway.

Here it goes:

10. Chelsea Wolfe – She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She: Chelsea Wolfe is a powerhouse and I love everything she does.

9. Vola – Friend of a Phantom: Catchy, melodic, with a good dose of prog and jazz – what’s not to love about this album?

8. Osi and the Jupiter – Songs from the grave: There is space for neofolk on my list as well, of course.

7. Alcest – Les chants de l’aurore: Post-metal, post-black but still with the eeriness of chilling black metal.

6. Apocalyptica – Plays Metallica pt 2: Metal and cello, I had to give my favorite classical musicians gone south a shoutout here.

5. Lucifer – V: A bit of occult rock goes a long way.

4. Opeth – The Last will and Testament: This album is pure craftmanship.

3. Oceans of Slumber – Where gods fear to speak: Perhaps not hitting me as heavy in the feels as their earlier work, but this album is still a majestic piece of work.

2. Dark Tranquillity – Endtime signals: What do I say? I am a complete DT fangirl, so everything they do is gold to me.

  1. Madder Mortem – Old Eyes, New Heart: Without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite album of the year. I have listened to it non-stop since it came out, and I love “the head that wears the crown” with a passion.
